Self Care Week is 16–22 November 2026, and there are lots of ways to get involved across Bromley.

self care week logo 2026Self care doesn’t have to mean making a big change. It can be taking a walk, getting active, learning something new, meeting other people, checking in on your health, getting creative or simply giving yourself permission to stop for a while.

This Self Care Week, we’re encouraging everyone in Bromley to make a little time for themselves.

There’s a fantastic mix of activities taking place across the borough, many of them completely free.  We are lucky in Bromley to have so many great local organisations and groups, something for everyone.

Whether you fancy joining a wellbeing walk, getting creative, meeting people over a coffee, singing or even trying climbing, there’s something to help you look after your physical and mental wellbeing.

Get moving

Try a Ramblers Wellbeing Walk, non-contact boxing, walking football, walking tennis, yoga, Tai Chi or one of the exercise sessions taking place during the week. There’s even a free Climb & Connect bouldering taster session for Bromley Well clients.

Slow down and recharge

Sometimes self care means stopping. Mental health carers can take some time out with a relaxing sound bath, unpaid carers can enjoy A Little Time for You, and Healthwatch Bromley’s Creating Space for Self-Care event offers guided visualisation and a creative activity.

Connect with other people

Self care can be social too. Friendship Hubs, peer support groups, coffee mornings and health and wellbeing cafés are taking place in Bromley, Beckenham, Orpington, West Wickham, Penge and Chislehurst.

Get creative

Unwind with Christmas crafting, join a friendly knit and crochet group, learn some sewing and mending skills or discover the positive power of Singing for Wellbeing in Biggin Hill.

Give your health a little attention

Mytime Active is offering free Vital 5 health checks at locations including the Pavilion Leisure Centre, The Walnuts Leisure Centre, Bromley Health and Wellbeing Centre and The Spa at Beckenham. The NHS Health Bus will also visit the Princess Royal University Hospital on 19 November with health and wellbeing information, blood pressure checks and vaccinations for eligible people.

There are also Bromley Well workshops and support for people living with long-term health conditions, plus activities specifically for unpaid carers, mutual carers and people with learning difficulties.
