This National Carers Week, One Bromley Health and Care Partnership recognises and celebrates the invaluable contribution of unpaid Carers across the London Borough of Bromley.
From parents and partners to friends and neighbours, these amazing individuals provide vital care and support to loved ones— often without recognition or rest.
One year on: One Bromley Carers Charter
It’s been one year since we launched the One Bromley Carers Charter, a shared commitment across our health and care organisations to better identify, value, and support unpaid carers. And we’re now pleased to report progress:-
- 14% increase in carers registered with their GP since June 2024—ensuring more carers are recognised and supported within primary care.
- Carer Champions have been identified across One Bromley organisations, helping to embed a “Carer Aware” culture in our everyday work.
- The Bromley Well and Bromley Council websites have been refreshed and aligned, making it easier than ever for carers to find the information and support they need.
A Community that cares
We know that caring can be rewarding—but also challenging. That’s why One Bromley is committed to making sure carers are not alone. Whether it’s through practical help, emotional support, sharing caring experiences with others or simply being recognised, we’re here to support.
For Carers Week Bromley Well are inviting Carers of all ages to join us for some well deserved “me time”
Food, fun and goodies await. Look out for your invitation in your inbox and check our website for details. See you there!

This week we say thank you to Bromley’s unpaid Carers— and renew our commitment to supporting them.
Dr Angela Bhan, Place Executive Lead for Bromley, NHS South East London ICB, said:
“Unpaid Carers do an incredible amount within our community, often unsupported and not always recognised. We’ve committed to a common approach in the One Bromley Carers Charter and one year on have taken real steps to ensure Carers are recognised, supported, and valued across our health and care system.”
Councillor Diane Smith, Executive Councillor for Adult Care and Health said:
“We have always valued the amazing contribution made by unpaid Carers right across our borough and send our sincere thanks for their commitment in helping make sure their loved ones live well. This very much reflects the spirit of many Bromley residents, who often put others before themselves, so I am delighted that in partnership we continue to recognise them and offer a range of support which is truly welcomed.”
Donna Glover, Director of Adult Services, at Bromley Council added:
“We’ve seen fantastic collaboration across sectors to make Bromley more carer-aware. The increase in GP registered Carers is just one sign that our joined-up approach is making a difference. There’s more to do and we continue to work together to reach and support more residents who are caring for their loved ones.”
David Walker, CEO of BTSE (which delivers Bromley Well), said:
“Carers often put their own needs last. Our mission is to make sure they feel seen, heard, and supported—whether through practical help, emotional support, or simply a thank you. Bromley Well is proud to have taken the lead in developing the One Bromley Carers Charter. It is great that all partners are becoming more Carer Aware.”
