Self Care Week
Join Dyslexia Association of Bexley Bromley Greenwich & Lewisham for their online meeting, free and open to all.
Speaker: Faye Ogden.
Faye is a qualified person-centred Counsellor who has a private practice and also works in a college setting. She is very experienced in working with students and adults with a range of neurodiverse conditions, including autism, ADHD and dyslexia; in fact, this hidden community is the mainspring of her practice.
Faye often picks up where teaching and additional support leave off, and she provides a space for individuals to sort out and organise their feelings about this aspect of their identity, often enabling people to develop a healthier and more positive viewpoint of their unique characteristics and qualities.
In this talk and discussion, Faye will explore how counselling works, when it can be helpful, what it involves, and what the emotional and practical obstacles are to pursuing this option. Counselling can benefit children and adults with dyslexia and other neurodiverse conditions, as well as their parents and carers, who may also need to make adjustments to their thoughts and feelings.
