Start date: Thursday 18th July, running every Thursday from 11am-12 noon at Community House, South Street, Bromley.

Finish date: Thursday 5th September 2019.

Because this is a short course, we are unable to accept entry to the course once it has started.

This 8 week course is for carers - people who, without payment, provide help and support to a friend, neighbour or relative who could not manage otherwise because of frailty, illness or disability.

The course is based on the theory behind Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Over the 8 weeks you’ll follow a structured programme that includes how to:

  • Understand the impact that caring can have on mental health, and in particular how caring can play a role in stress, anxiety and depression
  • Understand the link between trigger situations, thoughts, emotions, physical symptoms and behavioural responses
  • Learn skills to cope with unpleasant physical sensations associated with stress and anxiety
  • Learn skills to manage behavioral responses which maintain difficulty coping with caring
  • Be able to identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts.

You can expect a warm and empathic atmosphere, meet new people and hopefully as a result of taking part in a group you'll feel supported by your other group members.

Please book ASAP to avoid disappointment as this course does get booked up.
