upcycle materialsThis free six week course starts 31st January and runs every Thursday 7pm-9pm until Thursday 14th March.

At: Kentwood Centre, Kingsdale Road, London, SE20 7PR.

Breathe new life into old materials!

This is a great chance to learn basic skills so you can upcycle old/donated materials - bags, cushions, throws - into new items.

You'll also be finding out how to alter and mend clothing and so minimise waste.

You'll be working on your own project at your own pace and have the chance to learn from other projects.

The tutor will provide some materials and cutting/sewing equipment for the first session and sufficient materials in subsequent sessions to enable you to learn the techniques shown. Further materials for your project, such as suitable threads, buttons or decorative items will be discussed at the first session.

Please wear old comfortable clothing and bring a basic sewing kit if you have one.

You will need to be able to understand both written and spoken English and be able to measure accurately and perform basic calculations.
